"What Difference Can a Little Blanket Make?

I remember the first mother who accepted a blanket from us like it was yesterday. She couldn't believe we were actually offering it for free.  She was so surprised, she sent someone out to ask if that was what we really intended.  After he assured her it was, she came out with tears in her eyes.  She couldn't believe anyone would care so much for her children. To us it was a small price to pay for the life of the precious child inside.

For me this is where the "rubber hits the road".  When society turns a blind eye to the death of innocents we, as true followers of Christ, must step in. If it takes making a blanket, filling a diaper bag or shining a light in the darkness, we must be ready to do so.

Jesus had such compassion that He risked it all to help the hurting.  One of my favorite examples is where He raised the widow's son.  I can just see Him reaching out to touch that coffin.  It was His way of letting that mother know that her pain, her loss deeply mattered to Him.  His gift changed her world. These blankets, diaper bags, and the art are our gifts.  If we use them wisely, they, too, can change the world.

Since that first mother until now, mothers continue to be moved and children saved by little blankets. If you, or someone you know, would like to do something positive about this issue, please consider helping us. A few minutes a day crocheting, kniting, or quilting can make a lifetime of difference to the hurting.

If you'd like to help, but aren't "crafty", here are some other options:

1. stuffing or providing diaper bags
2.  providing clothing or other gifts
3.  art distribution ("See Awareness Project")
4.  issue education (brochures are available)
